Spark Academy camps are all about promoting and spreading awareness, knowledge, and interest in STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math). Our camps are run by experienced students
from Beaverton Public Schools' FIRST Robotics teams, the Westview Wildcats and School of Science and Technology's Flying Hedgehogs.
We offer a broad variety of camps, everything from electrical engineering to Computer Aided Design (CAD) to 3D printing. All proceeds
will go towards supporting Beaverton robotics education programs. And, considering Beaverton Public Schools is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity, part of the tuition charged may be eligible for a tax deduction. Please discuss this with your tax preparer or accountant.
Classes will be held at TVFR Station 67 or TVFR Station 65. All
camps will be a week long with AM camps running from 9 AM to 12 PM
and PM camps will be from 1 PM to 4 PM.
Combining technology and the arts, kids will learn how to design and create their own custom T-shirts, stickers, and more using GIMP (Image Manipulation Software) and vinyl cutters.
Learn about how computers work, from turing machines to today’s cell phones. In this interactive class on computer hardware, students will be able to learn cryptography as well as how to properly take apart and put together a computer.
Learn how to master professional-grade 3D CAD (computer aided design) modeling software by designing and building your own project! Using engineering sketch techniques and Autodesk Inventor, take your imagination and creativity further than ever in this workshop.
Learn about the basics of forensic science, such as interpreting blood splatters, studying fingerprints, and DNA analysis. With crime scene investigative techniques, solve a mock murder using the skills you’ve learned!
In this three day camp, come to learn about the dynamics of force and propulsion and leave with a rocket of your own making and your own launch set - everything you need to become a rocketry expert!
Students will work on light-up take-home projects and learn the basics of soldering through hands-on construction, seeing first hand how circuits work!
Learn the essentials of game design and master creating virtual environments and levels! In this camp, students will get an introduction to game design concepts and learn the basics of Python programming by developing their own game.
