1510 Outreach

  • Team members took our robot to the state capitol in Salem, OR to tell congressmen about FIRST.
  • Female team members appeared in a film about girls in technology produced by students from Westview High School.
  • Team members often volunteer at outreach events for Bikes for Humanity PDX.
  • Team members demonstrated our robot to Senator Jeff Merkley to inform him about the FIRST program.
  • Team members volunteer at school supplies drive Packed With Love organized by Love Inc
  • Team 1510 runs a booth at the Farmer's Market to demonstrate our robot and fundraise.

  • Team members and mentors run workshops at annual FIRSTfare hosted by FRC Team 1540.
  • Team members teach after school Lego Robotics Classes at local Barnes Elementary School.
  • Team leaders and mentors help plan an annual scrimmage at OMSI.
  • The teamís business plan and CAD models have been given out to teams as a model to follow.
  • Our team coach Robert Hendel provides leadership trainings to area teams.
  • Team members have testified for the House of Representitives Sub-Committee for Higher Education about FIRST.
  • The team has trained area rookie teams such as FRC Team 4127 from Vernonia, OR
  • Team 1510 members are very active in volunteering at FIRST Lego League Events such as qualifying tournaments at Poynter Middle School, Intel- Jones Farm Campus and Hillsboro High School. They also serve important tasks at the Oregon state championships.

  • 1510 loaned a cRio to team 2542 when theirs failed
